Riwaka smells strongly of passion fruit and citrus with elements of coniferous forest. Riwaka is the archetype for how New Zeeland Hop Character is defined.
Amplifire™ Pellets are a concentrated form of hop pellets, designed to increase flavor and aroma as well as beer yield. Amplifire™ Pellets can be used as regular T90 pellets, but are best suited for late additions such as whirlpool, end of boil or dry hopping. 500-600 g Amplifire™ Pellets is equivalent to using around 1 kg of T90 hop pellets.
Riwaka is excellent for when you want a distinct fruitiness, for example in an APA or IPA. It's also suitable for modern lager and saison.
Riwaka, previously called D-Saaz, was developed by New Zeeland hop development program "Hops with a difference" in 1997 by crossbreeding Saaz with a couple of domestic hops. It quickly grew to be one of New Zeelands favorite hops, which is easy to understand once you've brewed with it. The name Riwaka comes from Riwaka River that runs through the agricultural landscape.
Aroma: Strong aroma/taste of passion fruit and grapefruit with elements of coniferous forest.
Origin: Nya Zeeland
