Northern Brewer is one of the most popular hop varieties in the world. It can be used as an alround hop for bittering, flavour and aroma. Very common as a bittering hop by German breweries.
Commonly used in German lager and bock, Steam Beer, German ale, English ale.
Was bred in England in 1934 as a cross between Goldings and Brewer's Gold. Nowadays mostly grown in the Hallertau-district in Germany.
Aroma: Mint and herbs.

Alpha acid (correct alpha value is printed on the package): 6 - 10 %
Cohumulone: 27 - 33 %
Total oils: 1,3 - 2,1 ml / 100 g
Storage stability (alpha acids): Very good, 77% alpha acids remaining after 6 months at 20 °C
