Infusion Spiral® is a patented product that is easy to use and which, thanks to the large contact surface, provides good oak character in a short time. Infusion Spiral® has been developed by The Barrel Mill, a cooperage in Minnesota that specializes in making oak barrels for craft breweries, wineries and distilleries.
The spiral cut makes big surface area to extract fast like chips but without the mess.
Two spirals are suitable for use in 20-25 liters of beer or wine, for up to 6 weeks. For a smaller amount of 10-12 liters, use one spiral. They can also be divided to reduce the dosage. Or you can use shorter contact time.
Oak Infusion Spiral® is available in four degrees of roasting: light, medium, medium plus and heavy toast.
- Light Toast adds structure and lifts the fruit with a delicate note of coconut.
- Medium Toast offers a sweet bouquet with warm vanilla overtones.
- Medium Plus Toast contributes aromas of honey and roasted nuts with a hint of coffee and spice.
- Heavy Toast adds pronounced caramelized wood, with notes of smoke and toasted bread.
