Additive kit with yeast and yeast nutrients for making your own cider at home.

This kit includes:
2 packages of dry yeast (pick your choice, read more below)
50 g Yeast-Vit nutrient blend
30 g Pectolytic enzyme
100 g Potassium metabisulphite (E224)

Yeast characteristics:
  • Fermentis SafCider AB-1 - For all types of sweet and dry ciders. Ideal to produce balanced ciders even under difficult fermentation conditions.
  • Fermentis SafCider AC-4 - For sweet and dry ciders with an intensely fresh aromatic profile (apple, foral) and a crisp mouthfeel. Aggressive against other yeast strains (killer yeast).
  • Fermentis SafCider AS-2 - Fresh aromatic and complex flavour profile with fruity notes (apple, citrus) and sweet notes (apple sauce). Sweet and round mouthfeel.
  • Fermentis SafCider TF-6 - Cider yeast for sweet ciders. Very fruity, with high aromatic intensity and complexity towards fresh fruity notes (apple, banana-pear, red apple, citrus and exotic fruits) combined with interesting elaborated fruit notes (applesauce).


Potassium metabisulphite provides sulfur dioxide (SO2) which inhibits wild yeast and prevents oxidation. Add 24 hours before adding the yeast culture.

Pectolase breaks down the pectin in the fruit, increasing the juice yield and prevents cloudiness afterwards. Dosage: 1 g per 5 liters of juice. Added to the juice, 12 hours contact time is recommended at 20 °C.

Yeast nutrition creates the conditions for optimized fermentation. The nutrients can be added together with the yeast, or for juices with added sugar, portioned out on a few occasions during the first week of fermentation. Recommended dosage approx. 1 - 2 g per 20 liters of juice.

    Jäsningen startade förvånansvärt snabbt och bra trots att jag valt att jäsa i låg temperatur. När nu äppelmusten jäst färdigt är resultatet sådant att jag vågar anta att slutresultatet skall bli en cider som uppfyller mina förväntningar!

    Är det riktigt uppfattat att jag tillsätter kaliumdisulfiten direkt när jag pressat äpplena. Pektolas 12 timmar senare samt jäst och hästnäringen ytterligare 12 timmar senare?

    Du kan tillsätta pektolas och kaliumdisulfit samtidigt. Men du bör vänta minst 24 timmar efter tillsats av kaliumdisulfit innan jästen tillsätts. Jästnäring kan tillsättas i samband med att du tillsätter jästen.
