Petit in name but big in flavour. Aromas of heady plum and soft vanilla set the tone. Black cherry and blackberry flavours lead the way, while undertones of warm blueberry and plum build with each sip. Lush and velvety with a long finish of dark fruit and spice.

Petit Verdot is one of the classic grape varieties for red Bordeaux wines. There it is never used alone but mixed in as a component, especially in the best communes such as Pauillac and Margaux. This grape ripens late, which causes some concern in Bordeaux, and nowadays petit verdot is grown with great success in newer wine countries such as Australia and the USA. In these warmer climates, the grape often produces notes of blueberry and violet.

Shiraz is the name used in e.g. Australia, South Africa and Chile for the grape Syrah from the northern Rhône valley, where it produces the great classic wines from Côte-Rotie and Hermitage. This is one of the great red wine grapes, and the best wines can develop during decades of ageing.


Lodi is an AVA (American Viticultural Area), a wine district in California, east of San Francisco. Lodi is especially known for its Cabernets and Zinfandels.
