Citra is probably the most popular strain among craft brewers. It has a distinct fruitiness with focus on citrus.
Common beer styles are IPA, NEIPA, modern American ale and lager.
Citras was developed by the Hop Breeding Company and has a heritage from five hop strains: US Tettnanger, Mittelfruh, East Kent Golding, Brewer’s Gold and one unknown strain. Launched in 2007 it's popularity has exploded and despite it's young age it is one of the most grown strains in the US today.
