Cascade is one of the most popular American aroma hops. Known for its fresh and flowery aroma with distinct notes of citrus.
Cryo Hops® is a concentrated form of hops developed by Yakima Chief Hops, where much of the plant parts have been removed but oils and other flavors have been retained. Cryo Hops® can be used just like regular T90 pellets but are best suited for whirlpool or dry hopping. Compared to regular hop pellets, only 50% as much Cryo Hops® is needed to achieve the same taste results.
Cascade is most commonly used in american ales and IPA. It can also be used for example in modern lagers and saison.
Cascade was introduced 1972 as a cross between the English hop Fuggles and a Russian variety called Serebrianca. During the very first craft-beer movement on the US west coast, Cascade played a major part, rising quickly in popularity. Up until 2018 it was the most commonly grown hop in the USA but has since been overtaken by Citra.
