Waimea
New hops variety from New Zealand released in 2012. Waimea is a granddaughter to Pacific Jade and gives flavors of, for example, tangelo (a hybrid between tangerine and pomelo or grapefruit), citrus and pine shoots. High-alpha variety with excellent flavor characteristics and low cohumulone levels, resulting in a soft bitterness.
Typical alpha acid: 14-15 %.
