Southern Cross was produced by New Zealand's HortResearch hops development program in 1994. It is a cross between the New Zealand Smooth Cone and a research variety which in turn was a mix between a Cali and English Fuggle.
Aroma: Lemon peel and spruce shoots with a clean spiciness.
Origin: Nya Zeeland
Typical values:
Alpha acid (correct alpha value is printed on the package): 11 - 14 %
Cohumulone: 25 - 28 %
Total oils: 1,2 - 1,6 ml / 100 g
Storage stability (alpha acids): Very good
