A refractometer is an optical instrument that measures the density of a liquid using the refractive index. Primarily used for measuring the density before fermentation.
Place a few drops of wort or juice on the prism and read the original gravity.
Scale: 0 - 170 °Oechsle (= 1.000 - 1170 SG) and 0 - 25 % potential alcohol. Automatic temperature correction between 10 and 30 °C.
Supplied with storage box, screwdriver for calibration, pipette, microfiber cloth and instructions.
Calibrate using distilled water at 20 °C (not included).

Dålig överenstämmelse mellan densitetmätaren och refraktometern. Vad kan det bero på
Jag köpte just denna refraktometer (0-170 Öschsle) och skulle följa jäsprocessen på min cider. När cidern var utjäst visade refraktometern fortfarande 15 Öchsle medans densitetmätaren visade på 0.998 SG. Vad kan skillnaden beror på? Är det fel på refraktometern eller finns det någon annan förkalring?

En refraktometer används endast för att mäta densiteten före jäsningen, vilket står i beskrivningen. En refraktometer använder man alltså inte under och efter jäsningen. Så det är därför du får olika resultat på dessa två verktyg.
