Accurate Plato hydrometer for professional brewers and winemakers. Requires a large measuring jug (minimum 36 mm in diameter).
Measuring range 0 to 10 °Plato (equivalent to 0-40 °Oechsle) with 0.1 °Plato scale divisions.
Calibrated at 20 °C.
Integrated thermometer for easy temperature correction.
Length: 375 mm
Diameter: 32 mm
The fermentation rate and the alcohol can be calculated by comparing the density before and after fermentation.
The alcohol content may be calculated by the formula
(plato before fermentation - plato after fermentation) * 0.516 = alcohol by volume. </ Span>
Example: (12-2) * 0.516 = 5.16% vol.
