Stainless steel "Carbonation Cap" for PET bottles. It has a 7 mm hose barb on the inside where you can attach tubing to be used as a dip tube. The keg post fits both Liquid and Gas ball-lock disconnects.
Can be used for:
• Counter-pressure filling PET bottles
• Carbonating beer in PET bottles
• Rinsing and cleaning draft beer systems
Here's how to use the adapter to counter-pressure fill beer into a PET bottle from a keg:
- Fit a hose on the barb so that the hose reaches the bottom of the bottle.
- Screw the adapter to the empty bottle.
- Attach the gas ball-lock fitting and apply a low pressure. Unscrew the adapter a little bit so it starts to leak, and allow to leak for about 10 seconds. First, it's air that pours out. The air is gradually replaced by CO2. Re-attach the adapter.
- Apply a pressure that corresponds approximately to the pressure in the keg.
- Remove the gas fitting and attach the beer beer fitting to the adapter.
- If the pressure in the bottle is lower than in the keg, the beer will flow from the keg to the bottle. Carefully unscrew the adapter slightly to reduce the pressure in the bottle to maintain a smooth flow. When the bottle is full, screw the adapter completely on and remove the beer fitting.
- If you want to, you can replace the adapter with a standard cap. Allow the bottle to rest a few minutes in the fridge before switching from adapter to the cap.
