Grainfather G40 is the latest brewing system in Grainfather's G-series. Here, the latest design and technology from big brother G70 meet with further improvements in functionality in a smaller format.
Like its big brother, the control unit has WiFi support and can therefore be controlled remotely and connected to the Grainfathers App. Via the app, you get access to several smart tools, the ability to add your other devices from the G-series and a very large recipe library among many other features. You can easily create a recipe and brewing schedule on your mobile device and then run it directly on the G40.
In the G40 you mash, lauter and boil in the same vessel. The wort is pumped around and heated in the RIMS method according to the programmed mash schedule. The malt is placed in a perforated insert that is lifted for sparging after mashing. The news is that the malt basket is perforated in long strips up the side, which removes the need for the overflow pipe in the middle.
The system can handle batches between 10 and 40 l and malt quantities between 3 and 13 kg. This makes the brewery incredibly flexible to freely experiment with different beer styles and batchsizes. On the side you see the volume via the sight glass and the conical bottom also means that you reduce the amount of wort lost in the bottom of the pan.
The included counterflow chiller is easily connected to the kitchen faucet for access to cooling water. The wort is pumped directly from the Grainfather, through the cooler into the fermenter.
The heating element has stepless power control. The control unit automatically determines how much power to use during brewing. Low power to keep the temperature stable during mashing and up to 3.15 kW to quickly reach temperature and get a vigorous boil.
Improvements to previous Grainfather Connect: Conical bottom with false bottom for efficient filtration of hop residues The circulation tube is integrated in the unit, which makes it easy to open the lid during mashing without the risk of spilling wort. Sight glass for easy reading of the volume Rounded corners on the malt tube filter, which means that you do not have to loose silicone gaskets Lifting handle on the sides and on the lid The WiFi connection provides a more stable connection than Bluetooth for monitoring the brewing and longer range
Max volume: 46 l Batch volume: 40 l Maximum amount of malt: 13 kg Power: 3150 kWh, 16A fuse required Warranty: 3 years Material: 304 stainless steel Weight: 29 kg Size: 65 x 53 cm
